Hello readers,
You’ll notice that you haven’t heard from yours truly for a while now. That’s because Yours Truly, hasn’t been pretty motivated to get this newsletter updated while he has other things strongly lingering on his mind.
One of those things is pretty personal, but to keep it short, I’ve been looking for a job, so that means I have less time to write. I am aware that writing about the things I want to write about keeps my mental health afloat, yet since I lost my last role, I have had bouts of high stress and anxiety, as a result of recent humiliations.
For my readers and subscribers, I truly apologize for the gap of content. I do this newsletter not for monetary gain, but out of love. Yet that is the nature of current media ecosystems, whether it’s through legacy or independent blogs that push back against its weaknesses. We like to think that we feel free from expressing our most authentic selves compared to the strictures of established media entities. But we are far from it, particularly when we experience the pressure to reach high engagement and thus, you are only indulging in your most vapid version of yourselves. I like to think that I am truly above it, but since I have been mainly absent from social media activities and less engaged with the news (or as you budding contrarians like to call it, “The Current Thing”), that means I’m not.
Is this newsletter dead? I’m certain that it isn’t, and I assure you that things will be back to the status quo that it previously had.
I hope that you understand.
